Over 74,000 young people enjoy Scouts Canada’s programs, which are provided by 23,000 caring and dedicated volunteers. Scouts Canada’s national office is located in Ottawa.

Please be advised that the council will be involved in a modified support structure for the west end of GTC. Sandy Creber has been successfully leading Old Mill as the Area Commissioner for over a year now. She also serves as the Group Commissioner for the 1st Etobicoke group. She has graciously agreed to participate in a pilot initiative that will expand the region she supports to include The Alders and Humber West effective immediately. We are pleased to announce the appointment of Catrina Knapp as Deputy Council Commissioner (DCC) of Compliance – Safety & Program Quality for Greater Toronto Council effective immediately.   Catrina was a Guider for many years before having her son and joining Scouts Canada in 2009.  Since joining Scouts Canada she has taken on many roles to support Scouting in her community: Key Scouter, Area Commissioner, Wood Badge Trainer.  She is currently the Group Commissioner for the 1st Lakeshore Group.   More »
We are pleased to announce the official appointment of Eric Tam as Deputy Council Commissioner (DCC) of Recognition for Greater Toronto Council effective immediately. Eric was previously in this role on an interim basis.   Eric has served in various Scouting capacities such as Assistant Scout Leader, District Commissioner and Regional Headquarters Commissioner in Hong Kong. He is also one of the founding members of the 11th Toronto Group, which started in 1989.  He is currently the Group Administrator.   More »
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Christopher Case as Deputy Council Commissioner (DCC) of Membership Growth for Greater Toronto Council effective immediately. Christopher has been active as a volunteer with Scouts Canada since 2003. He was a former Group Commissioner for 69th Toronto Scout Group in the Leaside/Davisville area with additional experience as a Leader with Beaver, Cub and Troop sections. He was also a Deputy Unit Leader for the 23rd World Jamboree Canadian Contingent Team. More »
