We are pleased to announce the appointment of Catrina Knapp as Deputy Council Commissioner (DCC) of Compliance – Safety & Program Quality for Greater Toronto Council effective immediately.
Catrina was a Guider for many years before having her son and joining Scouts Canada in 2009.  Since joining Scouts Canada she has taken on many roles to support Scouting in her community: Key Scouter, Area Commissioner, Wood Badge Trainer.  She is currently the Group Commissioner for the 1st Lakeshore Group.
Catrina has worked for over 26 year in aquatic and camp recreation, developing and providing quality youth programs in both the public and private sectors.  There are detailed regulations and standards for these program areas that must be adhered to while ensuring a safe, fun environment for participants, which makes risk assessment a daily priority.  Catrina holds many Instructor Trainer certifications for aquatic leadership and first aid programs from both the Red Cross and Lifesaving Society.
Please join us in welcoming Catrina to her new role!
Yours in Scouting,
Wilson Leung
