Our Staff Team

For each summer we hire an energetic, dedicated staff team to support and deliver our programs, food services, retail operations, maintenance and facility services, nature and environment services, medical staff and administration services. Campers have high expectations for our staff’s attitude, example, knowledge and performance, so we take the hiring and training process seriously. All staff are selected based on their experience, expertise and commitment to the delivery of a great, safe adventure and the care, well-being and development of our campers. We want our staff to be a part of something special and use their input to develop and improve our programs.
Qualifications
All staff hold current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification. Many come with training and other certifications, such as Lifesaving Society or Red Cross Lifeguard certification, Wilderness First Aid, Ontario Recreational Canoeing and Kayaking Association (ORCKA), Sail Canada, and Association of Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) accreditation. Several of our staff have received awards from Scouts Canada for their service and leadership.
Training
To provide all campers with a safe, quality camping experience, we provide all staff with training prior to each season. When our staff arrive at camp to help set up the camp operation, we also have training sessions that cover and review emergency preparedness, activity-specific skills training, program planning, and Scouts Canada Human Resources policies and procedures including Scouts Canada’s Safe Scouting procedures.
