See the notes from John Estrella, National Commissioner, and Caityn Piton, National Youth Commissioner, about recent appointments of Jake Forsyth and Spencer Julien as our new Council Commissioner and Council Youth Commissioner.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jake Forsyth as the Council Commissioner for Greater Toronto Council effective immediately.
Jake started in Scouting as a Beaver Scout and continued up to Venturer Scout culminating in earning the Chief Scout’s Award and the Queen’s Venturer Award. As a volunteer, he joined the Council Network Team as an Area Youth Commissioner for East Scarborough and then as a Deputy Council Youth Commissioner. At the section level, Jake is currently a Cub Scouter with 2nd Highland Creek in Scarborough. Jake was involved in the planning of 2013 World Scout Moot as a Co-Chair for the Toronto Experience, and an Offer of Service (OOS) for CJ’13, CJ ‘17 and Adventure ’14.
Professionally, Jake works in the event services field. Outside of work and Scouting, he volunteers as a member of a local community association and at local community festivals.
Jake will be replacing Wilson Leung who completed his term as a Council Commissioner. Please join us in thanking Wilson for his service to Scouting and in welcoming Jake as a member of the National Service Team (NST). He can be reached at

It is my sincere pleasure to announce the appointment Spencer Julien as the Council Youth Commissioner for Greater Toronto Council, effective immediately.
Spencer is currently Group Commissioner with 65th Toronto and the Project Lead for our Youth Leadership Training. Spencer is in his final year at Etobicoke School of Arts where he is specializing in Contemporary Arts. Spencer has been instrumental in assisting with the role out of the Canadian Path within the council as Deputy Council Youth Commissioner. He has been actively involved in the National Youth Spokesperson program, and a vital asset to the social media team. Spencer has earned his Chief Scout award and has been recognized with the Bar to the Medal for Good Service.
Spencer is looking forward to helping the Greater Toronto Council grow their youth network, support the 5 priorities and find new talent within the council.. I am confident he will bring new ideas and energy to the council table. He is excited to work with the council team in helping them achieve their goals.
Please join me in thanking Gina Kim for her service to the Greater Toronto Council. Gina, we wish you well on your next adventures!
Welcome Spencer!
