Haliburton Scout Reserve Staff Application

About the Application and Hiring Process

  1. You will select position areas of interest in order of preference. Applications received after the closing date will be kept on file and would only be considered when suitable candidates are not selected from the applications received by the deadline.
  2. Be prepared to:
    • provide a current email address and phone number where you can be contacted.
    • upload a cover letter and current resume.
    • describe your certifications (e.g. first aid, lifeguard, boat operator).
    • provide the name, phone numbers and email address for three references such as volunteer service supervisors, employers, teachers, coaches or Scouters. An email will be sent to the individuals asking them to complete an online form so be sure they are willing to be your reference. We cannot offer employment until completed references are received.
  3. Ensure you check your email folders regularly for correspondence from us.
  4. Completed applications will be reviewed and candidates selected for interviews will be contacted by phone or e-mail and interviews will continue until all positions are filled. Interviews for supervisory and senior staff positions will begin in January 2019.
  5. After reference checks are received for selected candidates, preliminary employment offers will be made, and formal employment offers with required paperwork will be forwarded to selected candidates. All of these materials, including copies of certifications, must be returned at the pre-camp training session, May 8-10, 2020 at Woodland Trails Camp, Aurora
  6. Scouts Canada required training must be completed by June 1, 2020.
