Top Section Award Deadline

Event date

04/01/2018 (All day)

Event Description

As we continue our journey on the Canadian Path, it is important to support your Section Leadership Team (Howler’s Council, Troop Leadership Team, etc.) in facilitating the Top Section Awards for youth who have chosen to pursue it.

If you are not already aware, the approval process for Top Section Awards changed as of December 6, 2017, in an effort to streamline the process while ensuring youth get recognized for their accomplishment.

You will note (in the new method outlined below) that Section Leadership Teams will play a key role in the approval process, while Scouters will be asked to facilitate the process. In Greater Toronto Council, Scouters will be responsible for identifying a meaningful recognition ceremony for North Star Award and Seonee Award recipients, while Chief Scout Award, Queen’s Venturer Award, and Canadian Rover Scout Award recipients will continue to be recognized at the Council Youth Recognition Ceremony.

For all Top Section Awards, please add the appropriate recognition to a youth’s MyScouts profile by April 1, 2018 for Council recognition during this Scouting year.

If the award is not added by April 1, 2018, a congratulatory letter will not be issued for North Star Award and Seonee Award recipients nor an invitation issued for the Council Youth Recognition Ceremony for Chief Scout, Queen’s Venturer or Canadian Rover Scout Award recipients until the 2018-19 Scouting year.
